'No sign of him yet.'  You bit your lip and sighed. Gazing up, you stared at the clock, waiting for him to arrive. After making a few circles back and forth along the old carpet floor, you finally looked up to your satisfaction to find the charming Brit walking over towards you. You've both set up an appointment to meet up here at the very last section of the library, where people, including faculty barely visited. It was like your secret place to escape to, purely vacant asking to serve some purpose and here was the perfect one.

"Sorry to keep you waiting love.." The blond approached you closer.

"I was starting to think you wouldn't show up, you're never late.." you raised an eyebrow and questioned the gentleman before you.

"I'm sorry, I had to take care of something at the last minute but I'm here now…"

"And that's all that matters…"

That was the end of your small conversation as you felt yourself pressed against the shelf with little force. You stared up at a pair of bright green eyes above you, luring you closer to the owner.
You felt your body brushed up against his, allowing you to breath in an enticing scent composed of tea and fresh cologne that lingered off his sweater. You closed your eyes shut as he brought his arms around you, keeping you nice and snug as his warm lips affectionately caressed your own. Twirling your fingers through his shaggy, blond hair; you made it even more ruffled than it already was.

Thump!
You forgot that you had your back against a book shelf filled with old, torn up books and novels mounted across it until one of them collided onto the floor. A few more books, one by one, started to fall as well but you quickly ignored it, deciding to pick them up afterwards.

So how did you end up in the arms of a stunning Englishman at the back of the library? Your mind flashed back to the beginning of all this.

~

'It looks so beautiful…' You thought as you pushed open the pure white doors of the new library that had just opened. You went inside and started observing everything. The walls were freshly painted and the whole library extended very far, over all it looked a lot better than your old library.
It wasn't very long before you started browsing through different aisles. You grabbed a whole bunch of books on impulse, burying them into your arms as you carried them over to an open seat. Your mother always scolded you to carry one book at a time instead of grab a whole collection in your arms but you were so excited to read all these books at once and ignored this caution.

However this would've been a great time to listen to her because you lost your steadiness and accidentally dropped your books onto the floor after battling with your trembling fingers.

You bent down to pick up the fallen books, but suddenly felt a soft hand brush up against yours.
"I've got it, miss."
You slowly looked up to see a flaxen-haired guy with forest green eyes and a reassuring smile as he knelt down to collect your books in his arms and then handed it over to you.
"T-thanks.." you mumbled quietly, but audible enough for him to hear.
"No problem, love." He smiled again and soon walked over to a cart full of library books and DVD's, dragging it across the room. You realized that you had been smiling back with light red hues stained across your cheeks as you watched the charming librarian make his way to the other side of the library.

About a week later, you were studying a (fave subject) book at an empty table.
Having the urge to glance up from the book, you spotted the same librarian staring at you, his green orbs locked with yours. It made you feel a bit uncomfortable so you quickly tore your gaze away from him, but not before catching him wink right at you. Your face flushed brightly and you quickly hid it behind the book, pretending to read. After a few minutes, you slowly peeked up and saw the Brit playfully wiggling his thick eyebrows at you and smirk as you returned to permanently burying your face behind your book. Unbeknownst to you, he silently wheeled his cart near you and caught you with your face purposely planted onto the same exact page minutes ago.
"Love, you've been on the same page for a while now, you can't possibly be reading that slowly."
He chuckled at you being caught red –handed.
"You know, we haven't properly introduced ourselves. I'm Arthur, Arthur Kirkland."
"Oh um I'm ____."
"That's a lovely name, it's nice to meet you, ____. I've noticed you've started coming to this library often." He smiled at you.
"Yeah.. I have, I really like it.."
"Me too, it has a very nice feel to it, don't you think?"
You nodded and soon you both continued chatting a bit before you had to return to studying and Arthur had to continue helping around the library.

After you were done studying, you tried to place the book back where it originally belonged but it was too high for you to reach on the shelf. There was no stepping stool in your line of vision so you sighed and were about to just shove it in a random spot in front of you but were stopped by a British accent nearby.

"Ah ah ah, you have to put the book back where it belongs, love."
Not even bothering to turn around, you mumbled, "But I can't reach that far…"
"Then allow me to do it, ____." Arthur smiled as he took the book that you pushed to the side of the aisle and delicately placed it at the top of the shelf to where it was supposed to go according to alphabetization. He chuckled at how cute it was that you couldn't reach that far on the shelf and had such a problem with it, and soon walked back to the cart, arranging more books in their proper place.

You kept visiting the library more and more often, constantly checking out books and novels. Being the bookworm you are, you thought this was perfectly normal but subconsciously there was something else that kept bringing you back here time after time.

Arthur.

He'd grown to having you visit the library often and helping you when you needed assistance, as well as playfully tease you for being so shy and constantly flustered. You didn't know why you seemed to feel a slight thrill over this but you had to admit that you never seen him interact with anyone more than with you at the library and that alone made your heart flutter a bit.

It was another day at the library and you were in line to check out a new book you've been waiting weeks for to be released. You were wearing a bright yellow sundress that fell a few inches above your knees. Standing there patiently, you started twiddling the hem of the ends of your dress with your fingers daintily.
"My, don't you look adorable today, ____."
You flinched nervously at the suave voice you easily recognized and turned your head to look up and see Arthur a few feet away, putting some books neatly stacked onto a table, grinning at you.
You started to flush deeply at the compliment, hoping your (h/c) hair would hide your face as you shifted your attention to the floor.
The Englishman only smirked at this reaction and continued his task over at the table.
"Ready to check out, miss?" A voice from behind the check-out table snapped you out of your thoughts as you turned your attention that was briefly on Arthur to the woman speaking.
"Oh! Yes, I am.." you handed the book over to her, only for her to frown a bit at the computer as she scanned your library card.
"It says you have an over-due book." She confirmed to you.

"An over-due book? That doesn't sound like you at all, ____. Tsk tsk." Arthur teased you lightly.
Trying to calm the blush on your face from further spreading, you just shrugged and turned to the woman behind the counter, assuring her you'd return the book.
You finished checking out your book and were about to head out the door of the library but were stopped as the same heavy-accented voice from moments ago called out, "Have a nice day." Arthur waved good-bye to you, smiling as you began to leave. You couldn't help but wave right back, smiling as well.

About  two weeks later you stopped seeing Arthur around the library. At first you felt admittedly a bit disappointed but you just tried to shrug it off and ignore it. 'Why should I be disappointed? He's always teasing and poking fun at me.. I mean, he doesn't mean anything by it and all but still, I shouldn't be upset that he's not here. He probably just took a short break or something.." Clearing your mind from these thoughts, you walked over to where your little sister was sitting at a table in the Children's section, with an I Spy book in your hand.
"I found it!" you called out in a cheerful tone, watching her face light up instantly.
"Yay!"
"Okay, let's begin…" You said as you placed the book onto the table and grabbed a chair to join your sibling in a game of I Spy.
After a while you both gotten very into reading the book, so you didn't hear quiet footsteps approaching from behind.
"Aren't you a little old to be playing I Spy, ____?"
"Aren't you little young to be working at a library?" you asked back as you saw Arthur.
The tall blonde laughed a bit and was about to depart, until your little sister went over to him and innocently tugged onto his arm. "Come play with us, sir!"
Arthur chuckled and looked over to you for approval. You blushed but lightly nodded, not having a particular reason to object.
He started to pull up an extra seat but you stopped him and asked, "What about your job..?"
"Well, I'm sure a quick game wouldn't hurt. The books can wait and besides, you look eager for me to join in and play..." He grinned.

It had been a few minutes into the game and you were all laughing and smiling.
"I spy two books, a heart, a jar, and a hat!" your sister called out enthusiastically.
You and Arthur worked together and found all four things.
"Okay, it's your turn, Arthur." You turned the page, handing him the book.
"Alright, let's see.." He looked up from the book and started, "I spy something wonderful.. always so fascinating, not to mention very bright and beautiful.."
His gaze was now fixated on you instead of the page in front of him, his green orbs locked with your (e/c) eyes. You started to gape at him, in shock and pure awe as he leaned in forward towards you, coaxing you to do the same. His lips lightly brushed up onto yours, placing a sweet, gentle kiss.
You both quickly separated, remembering that you were in a library, not to mention the Children's section and that your little sister was nearby, witnessing this.
She started squealing, "My sister finally has a boyfriend!" and jumped up and down excitedly, causing you and Arthur to both laugh heartedly. You ruffled her hair playfully and smiled back to Arthur, "I guess I do.."

~ Present moment

Arthur felt you stiffen in his arms as he continued to engulf you in kisses. "Love? What's wrong? You seemed to have spaced out for a bit.." He looked down at you a bit concerned.
You quickly shook your head and smiled widely, "I was just remembering little moments we had here in the library, it seemed to have passed by so fast in my mind.."
Arthur warmly chuckled, "Well, time does go by pretty fast, I remember when this library just opened.."
"So do I, that was the first memory that popped into my head." You sighed happily, 'Boy, I love this library.'  You thought as you and Arthur continued from where you left off.
~ If you don’t have a little sister just pretend you do for the story, especially one who loves playing I Spy (=
